About the Conference

Testing is not about finding bugs. Testing is about assessing a certain level of quality, for many different quality attributes: functionality, usability, performance, security, interoperability, etc.

Your tests may show that the system is too slow: this is not a "bug" in the code. Your test may show that the workflow of certain classes of users is not covered: this is a defect in the requirement, not a bug, not to mention that you may have deficiencies in the tests themselves.

Your tests should allow you to assess early (i.e., ahead of your customer) that you have reached a defined level of quality, for the attributes that do matter for your target. An agile approach will help because you can test early and often, and monitor the evolution of certain quality indicators over time, and adjust scope, expectations, resources, etc. adaptively.

This been said, testing will uncover bugs, in some cases. But there is more into testing than just demonstrating the absence of some anticipated bug, which is what agile team often do under a time-crunch.
